Sunday School Ministry
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6
Sunday school welcomes children aged between 04 to 18 years, from 9.15 to 10.15 a.m. and it is blessed with a team of dedicated, talented and experiential teacher who have committed their time and experiential service to mature and direct the youngest segment of the church family.
History tells us Rebert Raikes and Thomas Stock first established a Sunday School for the poor and the orphaned in Gloucester in 1780, to teach reading, writing, arithmetic and catechism to the children of the commoners.
Objective of Sunday School @ St. James’
“Come to Jesus, Bring Every child to Jesus”.
“Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven”.
Matthew 19: 14
Our goal is to provide all students with opportunities to get to know Jesus as their personal Savior and Friend. Please encourage your child to study the Sunday School lesson and complete the activities. Your help and support can stimulate good Bible study habits and contribute to your child’s spiritual growth. The time for them to learn about God is now.
You as parents and caregivers are the most important people in the faith life of your child! We are here to support you as you continue this journey of faith with your children.
An offering is taken up each week in the Sunday School. We want to help students understand the importance of giving to the Lord.
We have interesting activities lined up for the children apart from their usual Sunday School time. The workshops will be activities that might include art, science, games, drawing, colouring etc.

Please find a Sunday School (Google) registration form, which can be used for all children in your family. For planning purposes, it is helpful to have the forms completed and sent ahead of time.
Attending Sunday morning worship is the most important thing you can do each week to help your child grow in faith.
Children learn by observing. But they learn even more by participating. So, keep coming.
We encourage you to get a personal Bible for your child/children and a notebook, stationery to Sunday School.
We want you to know that our goal is to keep the lines of communication open with you. Please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any questions or concerns. Download our Sunday School Calendar for 2025-26.
